For the First Thursday event in 2010 we will be upping the ante with more beer, a new and improved store and location (2258 NW Raleigh), and a sectioned off street to hold the event in. We appreciate everyone squeezing together on NW 23rd the past 2 years, and now we are going to blow this event out of the water with more of everything--even sponsors!

This Month's Prizes:

Join Fit Right NW for it's First Thursday Run leaving from NW Portland every first Thursday from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm.

• At 6pm 2 large maps are shown that have a dozen or so checkpoints on them.  These maps entail downtown Portland and some parts of the immediate east side of town.
• Participants will be given an hour to hit as many checkpoints as possible by using their notes taken when the maps are revealed.
• When you arrive at each checkpoint you will be given a raffle ticket good for prizes from our sponsors (link this to our sponsors and prizes for that month section) at the end of the race.  How you get there is up to you, but the more raffle tickets you collect the more chances you have of winning prizes at the raffle drawing!

Cost: Free!

Try to hit as many checkpoints as you can, but remember that the raffle drawing starts at 7pm whether you are there or not!

Be sure to bring a watch, good navigational skills, and great attitude!

Didn't win anything at the raffle or not able to make the event??  No worries! ALL MANUFACTURERS ON SALE FOR THAT DAY ONLY!

Q: Are walkers allowed to come to this event?
A: Of course!  This event is laid back, and doesn't at all have to be a race.  The only catch is that the more checkpoints you hit the better chance you have at winning a raffle prize!

Q: How long is the course?
A: As long as you want it to be!  Some of the closet checkpoints are 1/4 mile away, and some of the furthest are 3.  Some of the further checkpoints are worth more tickets than others, and are clearly notated on the maps at 6pm.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: Nothing!

Q: Is this a race?
A: Not at all.  Some participants show up to use it as an easy run and others use it as a speed workout.  Whatever you choose, realize that this is a laid back event and have some fun!

Q: Do I have to hit all the checkpoints?
A: Not at all--just realize the more checkpoints you hit the better chances you have at winning cool prizes (link this)

Q: How long does this go until?
A: The event is from 6-7, but we recommend showing up at 5:30 to sign in and hang out for a bit.  The raffle starts promptly at 7pm, and so the sooner you get your tickets in the raffle box more chances you have to win. 

This event takes place from 5pm-8pm. There is free parking on NW 22nd and NW 23rd. New for 2010--NW Raleigh inbetween 22nd and 23rd will be local access only and there will be no parking for participants of the First Thursday Urban Adventure Run--please be courteous to our neighbors so we can continue to have this great event every month!
